Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Internet Tool Wizard ("we", "us", "the site", internettoolwizard.com) handles information when you use it. We keep it accurate to what is actually running on the site, and we update it the moment that changes.

1. Your tool input never leaves your device

Every tool on this site is designed to run 100% in your browser. When you type a number into a converter or paste text into an encoder, the work is done on your own device with JavaScript. That content is never sent to us or to any server, and we never receive or log it. We could not read it even if we wanted to.

To be exact about one thing: a few tools save your recent values on your own device (in your browser's local storage) so they are still there when you come back — for example the last conversions you ran, and colours you saved in the colour picker. That data stays in your browser, is never transmitted, and you can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data for this site in your browser settings. Section 6 lists every key we write.

2. What we collect

We do not collect what you type into the tools, and we do not ask you to log in or fill in forms. The site does use third-party services that may set cookies and process limited technical/usage data: an advertising auction served through Google Ad Manager together with Amazon and BidCliq, and Google Analytics 4 (aggregate usage analytics). Both are described in section 3. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a Google-certified consent management platform asks for your choice before any advertising cookie is set — section 4 explains how that works, how to change or withdraw that choice, and how anyone can block advertising or analytics themselves.

The one unavoidable exception is standard hosting data: the site is served through Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudFront). As with any website, the hosting/CDN infrastructure may automatically process basic technical request information — such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string — to deliver pages and protect against abuse. This is inherent to how the internet works and is not used by us to build a profile of you.

3. Advertising and analytics we use

To keep the tools free, we use the following. We keep this list accurate to what is actually running and revise the effective date above whenever it changes:

• Display advertising (Google Ad Manager, with Amazon and BidCliq). Ads on this site are served through Google Ad Manager in a real-time auction that Amazon Publisher Services and BidCliq also take part in; whichever partner has the best-matching ad wins the slot (full detail on each in section 7). These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may use an advertising cookie to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Where you have not consented to personalized ads (or where consent is not required and you opt out), they can serve non-personalized ads based only on general context and your approximate (e.g. country-level) location.
• Analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics to understand which tools are useful and how the site performs. It sets cookies (such as _ga) and collects aggregate usage data — pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, and interactions. It does not capture what you type into the tools. The data is processed by Google (section 7).
• Local storage on your device. We keep a few small things in your browser's local storage — settings such as your theme, the recent conversions you ran (which include the values you typed), and an A/B layout test bucket. None of these are advertising or tracking cookies; section 6 lists every key and says what it is for.

4. Cookies and consent

Advertising and analytics can set cookies. A Google-certified consent management platform now runs on this site. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, it asks for your choice before any advertising cookie is set, and passes that choice to the advertising partners named in section 7. You can change or withdraw it at any time from the privacy settings link the banner provides. Outside those regions the banner is not shown, because consent is not legally required there — the opt-outs in section 5 are available to everyone, and blocking advertising with your browser's tracking protection works from anywhere. Nothing on the site stops functioning either way.

Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you interact with the page, and it is configured for aggregate usage measurement. If you would rather it never load, you can block it with your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker, and nothing on the site will stop working.

Everything we store on your own device is listed in section 6, and you can erase all of it by clearing site data for this site in your browser settings.

5. Your choices and opt-outs

• Manage Google's ad personalization at My Ad Center (myadcenter.google.com).
• Opt out of personalized advertising from many companies at aboutads.info/choices and, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
• Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies, and to send a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal.
• California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have no financial incentive programme, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. You may ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it — email itsmemomomohit@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

6. What we store on your device

Two separate things get stored: keys we write, and cookies or identifiers the advertising and analytics partners in section 7 write. Both lists are below.

a) Written by us. All of it lives on your own device:

• itw-theme — your light or dark theme preference.
• itw-history — the recent conversions you ran (this includes the values you typed) and the tool pages you recently opened, so "continue where you left off" can work.
• itw-cp-history, itw-cp-palette — colours you saved in the colour picker.
• itw-favs — the tools you starred.
• itw-upref-… (one per converter category, for example itw-upref-length) — the units you last picked in that category.
• itw-tips-dismissed, itw-lang-detect-dismissed — which tips or language suggestions you dismissed, so they stay dismissed.
• itw-cont-d (session storage) — that you dismissed the "continue where you left off" prompt.
• itw_ab (session storage) — which A/B layout variant you were shown ("a" or "b"). This is an A/B test bucket, not a preference you chose. This is the one exception: that single letter is also sent to Google Analytics as an event label so we can compare the two layouts.
• wh-boot (session storage) — a cached registry lookup table used by the WHOIS tool.

Apart from that one exception (the "a"/"b" label in itw_ab), none of the keys in this first list is transmitted to us or to anyone else — we never receive it. Session storage entries disappear on their own when you close the browser tab. None of the keys in this first list is an advertising or tracking cookie — those are the second list, below.

b) Written by our advertising and analytics partners. These are set by the third parties named in section 7, not by us, and they are advertising and analytics identifiers. We do not read them and they are not under our control:

• __gads, __gpi, __eoi — Google advertising cookies, used to serve and measure ads and to limit how often you see the same one.
• FCCDCF, FCNEC — set by Google's consent management platform to remember the choice you made in the consent banner (section 4).
• _ga, _ga_J5CM829G06 — Google Analytics 4, aggregate usage measurement.
• google_pubconsole_dfp — Google Ad Manager diagnostics.
• bq_uid, bq_sess (local storage) — a persistent identifier and a session identifier written by BidCliq, which runs the ad auction.

You can erase everything on both lists at any time by clearing site data for this site in your browser settings, and you can stop the second list being set at all using the opt-outs in section 5 or your browser's tracking protection — nothing on the site will stop working.

7. Third parties

Your information may be processed by the following, each under its own privacy policy:

• Google — AdSense, Google Ad Manager and Google Analytics: Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses advertising cookies.
• Amazon — Amazon Publisher Services, which takes part in the auction that decides which ad you see: Amazon Publisher Services privacy notice.
• BidCliq — runs that auction on our behalf and passes no personal data of its own beyond what the ad request contains.
• Amazon Web Services — hosting only: AWS Privacy Notice.

These advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to select and measure ads. Where you have not consented to personalized advertising, or you have opted out, they may still serve non-personalized ads chosen from general context and your approximate (for example country-level) location.

8. Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not ourselves build user profiles, most such requests relate to the third-party services above — but you can always contact us and we will help where we can.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever our data practices change, and we will revise the effective date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here rather than communicated individually, so it's worth checking back.
